In under two weeks, BlockDown Festival, the world’s first NFT-enabled festival of Web3 culture, will kick off in the beautiful city of Sibenik, Croatia. Festival goers will be treated to an exciting line-up of talks, discussions and workshops over three days, featuring some of the industry’s biggest projects and most influential leaders. Learning and networking by day — and partying by night.
On the first night, Polkadot NFT music marketplace Public Pressure will host Beats’ top 100 Italian duo DJs Merk and Kremont, who will take over the cyber city. The party will showcase augmented reality tech, allowing the DJs and attendees to experience augmented reality as they party. On the second evening, St. Michael’s Fortress, an epic and historic fortress that overlooks the whole town of Sibenik will host a set courtesy of Web3 DJ Bufalo. The fortress party will be livestreamed into the BlockDown-branded Rocking Uniquehorns venue in Decentraland.
As a kiss goodbye to an unforgettable three days on the Dalmation coast, NFT legend and co-founder of NFT collective Party Degenerates, Seedphrase will take over the decks with his infamous CryptoPunk DJ mask. Seedphrase will headline the official BlockDown closing party at the beautiful Bullish Beach Club, alongside an appearance from electronic dance duo Plasitk Funk.
Learning and networking on one of the world’s most beautiful coastlines
Festival speakers will include Ripple’s director of global institutional markets Aditya Turakhia, Neo’s director of ecosystem growth Lili Zhao, Theta Labs head of strategy Wes Levitt, Yahoo creative technologist Kadine James and RMRK founder Bruno Škvorc. Popular gaming YouTuber, Kwebbelkop, who has over 14 million subscribers, will also be discussing his entry into Web3 and the NFT space.
BlockDown will also be exploring the music industry’s role in Web3. Attendees will hear from music industry veterans Charlie Rapino and Paul Sears for a special panel on how the music industry will respond to the Web3 paradigm.
The BlockDown festival is not just about seeing the future of technology in action. Festival goers will also be able to enjoy the glistening waters of the Adriatic as they mingle with other attendees on one of the many boat parties on offer. These will include VIP champagne receptions on exclusive catamaran trips as well as boat tours along the Dalmatian coast. Of course, if the champagne flows too freely, there will be ample opportunity to recuperate with sound healing and yoga sessions.
As well as the usual talks from industry leaders, the festival will also feature four workshops that will be open to all attendees, including a session on digital fashion by The Fabricant and a workshop with Neo.
The Human Trust Foundation, a nonprofit organization leveraging the power of NFTs and DAOs to help heal the planet, will be running a workshop titled: “Becoming Carbon Negative and Planet Positive With Earth Trust — NFTrees.” Meanwhile, Moonbeam, the Polkadot smart contract parachain, will be hosting “Launching NFT DApps on an Ethereum-compatible and interoperable environment in Polkadot.”
