MATTE Projects, the NYC-based creative studio that began as a warehouse party in Brooklyn in 2012, is celebrating its 10-year anniversary with both IRL and URL projects.

Ahead of its art and nightlife event MATTE Black headlined by Peggy Gou and Heron Preston, the agency is jumping into Web3 with a new platform dubbed MATTE.WORLD. The site offers access to NFT art, as well as exclusive merch collaborations and artist exhibitions in the metaverse, while users are invited to interact via MATTE’s Discord channel.

The studio has launched the MATTE Black Card, an exclusive all-access pass to both in-person and virtual experiences. Now open for applications on MATTE.WORLD with only 333 spots available, the Black Card offers users lifetime access to the studio’s events, in addition to a whitelist to future NFT releases. Those accepted are given the chance to mint the pass on OpenSea for 2 ETH (approximately $3,050 USD as of writing). On top of the Black Card, MATTE has dropped Black Badges, which are NFTs that offer gated access to a livestream of MATTE Black.

Scheduled for April 23 at Knockdown Center in Queens, MATTE Black will feature Gou, Preston, Marcel Dettman, AceMoMa and more. The event is described to be a “multisensory, immersive experience” bridging art, music and technology.

You can head over to Eventbrite to get your hands on tickets to MATTE Black 2022. A part of the proceeds will go towards the International Rescue Committee (IRC)’s Ukraine chapter. Learn more about the studio’s Web3 launches via MATTE.WORLD.
